Have you ever wished you had a few extra hundred dollars lying around to pay for that unexpected bill or expense?

Or maybe you wish you could make a little bit more money to pay for an upcoming vacation or a new car, computer, or downpayment.

What are some side hustles that you could do to supplement your income if you aren’t making enough money at your job or if you’re a student looking to make some extra cash?

Here are 7 of the best side hustles that you can do in your spare time that pay $20 to $200 per hour.

Watch this video about the seven best side hustles.

1.Buying And Selling Used Stuff

You can turn junk into cash by buying and selling used stuff. This is the old flea market model but we’re taking it online.

Your parents, grandparents, friends and relatives may have stuff lying around and they’re not doing anything with it. Ask if you can take these items and sell them online. Then, if you sell something for $100 and give say, $60 to your grandparents and keep $40, then you’re helping them to declutter and you’re giving away something that someone else will find useful.

There are many sites you can go to, such as Craigslist, Kijiji, and eBay.

Actually, that’s how I got started on the internet. I bought Bruce Lee collectibles from Hong Kong and flipped them on eBay. That’s how I got into the whole internet marketing space.

However, if buying or collecting, and then flipping and selling is not your style, you can try writing.

2. Copywriting

This side hustle is not to be confused with the academic writing that you learned in school. Copywriting is persuasive writing in which you write the way that you talk.

Think about the internet, social media posts, emails, ads, landing pages, websites and funnels, all these things on the internet that need copy. So companies and entrepreneurs are constantly looking for copywriters.

There’s a huge demand for copywriters because it’s a skill not taught in school. It’s more of a learn as you go or learn through a course type of skill.

It’s a great side hustle that could pay you an extra $20 to $200, even $500 an hour, and you can start it in your spare time.

If you have a special skill or subject area that you’re an expert in, then you can tutor in your spare time.

3. Tutoring

By tutoring, I’m not just talking about Math, English, Chemistry and the different subjects from school. Maybe you have a skill set that you can teach others. You might be good at playing piano or guitar or maybe you’re a great dancer. You can offer private lessons.

On Craigslist, you can find jobs or you can also post jobs on Craigslist to offer these types of services. I’ve heard of very young kids making $50 to $100 teaching simple lessons.

There are many people making $50 to $100 per hour as a tutor, teaching people how to play a musical instrument or teaching someone to dance. You could do the same.

4. Closing

When you’re closing for a company, you’re working as a commission-based sales person. You’re not knocking on doors, although you could do that, but as a commission-based closer or sales person you’re working on commissions.

You’re selling products or services for $1,000 or more. So let’s say for a $1,000 offer you get a 10% commission, making you $100 per sale.

In some cases it might take you 30 minutes, it might take you an hour to close that sale on the phone. Closing is one of the most highly paid professions in the world. You can make an incredible income without a lot of credentials, or even a degree.

And you can close on the phone in your spare time, getting paid by companies that pay based on results. That means there’s no limit to how much money you can earn.

If you want to know more about how to make money as a closer, I have a four day four part training series for you that’s absolutely free. You can click the link here and check that out.

Closing is a very powerful side hustle, something that I highly recommend.

High-ticket closing is a side hustle in which you could make $100 a day.

5. Sitting

I’m not talking about sitting at home and making money!

I’m talking about dog sitting, house sitting, and baby sitting. If you love animals, you can walk dogs and charge the dog owner X amount per hour.

If you know someone who will be on vacation and gone for weeks or months, you can house sit for them. Live in their place and water the plants and make it seem like someone is home. And you can dog sit and house sit in your spare time if that’s something that you love to do.

Babysitting is a side hustle you can charge quite a bit of money for if you’re working with the right client and the right household.

The next side hustle is getting into real estate.

6. Renting Out Spaces with Airbnb

Did you know that you can rent out your room, your garage, or even your backyard on Airbnb and actually make some extra cash on the side?

You can actually rent out your backyard for people to go camping and believe it or not, you can easily charge a couple of hundred bucks per night for these spaces and all it takes is an hour or two of your time to clean up the place and get it ready to go.

Lastly, managing social media is highly in demand by many companies.

7. Social Media Management

There are so many companies out there that need someone to help them to manage their social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. They would gladly pay someone a retainer.

It could be a few hundred dollars a month for a small business, to thousands of dollars per month or even tens of thousands of dollars to manage their social media accounts or presence.

So if you are familiar with social media or you know how social media works – you don’t even have to be an expert – but if you just know more than most people, you could easily offer your services to these companies and earn an extra $20 to $200 per hour.

Social media management is another side hustle you can do from home.

Final Thoughts – The Best Side Hustles

If you’re looking to make a little extra cash on the side, there are seven side hustles you can do. You sell sell used stuff, you can “sit”, rent out spaces on your property, or tutor. For businesses, you can manage their social media accounts, close for them, or write their copy.

Now, I believe the number one side hustle that you could do is closing because it gives you the highest leverage with the least amount of work and it’s something that you can learn in a very short period of time.
