You probably saw some of Dan Lok’s videos on YouTube, ads popping up on your Facebook or other social media platform. In that case, you were probably wondering – what is high ticket closing all about? Dan Lok usually says that closing is a skill, but not just an ordinary one – it’s what he calls a skill of “ one size fits all”. But what does this really mean?

High ticket closing is the most important skill that entrepreneurs, business owners, consultants, freelancers, and any salesperson can have. It’s the most important skill because making a sale is crucial for anyone generating income. If there are no deals closed, there are no sales – if there are no sales, there’s no income. Ideally, a deal closed for a business owner is considered a sale and if there are no sales, they won’t be generating income and will struggle to increase their revenue. A salesperson relying on commission will starve without good closing skills.

The importance of closing doesn’t just stop at sales – it reaches further than sales.

What is High Ticket Closing?

In our day-to-day lives, sometimes we find it hard to communicate with our family, friends, or even people at work. In fact, we are all closers and the most successful people are closing on a daily basis.  If you have a child then you know this – they are the best closers. They always think of ways to convince and persuade you to buy their favorite toy for them. This is something that we all need in. For example, if you attend an interview, you convince the employer that you’re the best candidate.

So, you would’ve been closing at an early age – since you persuade your family to go on a  camping vacation or get the latest skateboard. Shouldn’t you be a master of closing already? You must be smiling in confusion when following this logic…It doesn’t seem to work this way, right?

Well, to be honest,  it takes a short time to learn high ticket closing but a long time to master. As a matter of fact, even Dan Lok is still learning more about closing every day even though has the ability to close million-dollar deals with confidence. Some of his best students continue to return to the fundamentals and building on their skills. So, let’s then take a look at some of the essentials of closing.

What Makes High Ticket Closing a High-Income Skill

As per the name itself, it a high-income skill allows you to  generate a six-figure income. We define a high-income skill as the one that makes you a minimum of $10,000 a month. People are buying and selling all the time. We have been doing this forever. The difference between high-income sales and low-income skills is significant, however.

But before we get into sales and closing,  let’s define what a closer is. A closer is a sales professional who closes deals from $3,000 to $10,000 for an influencer or a business. Even though many people think that the two are the same, there are huge differences between a closer and a regular salesperson.

Old Sales Tactics are Dead

You see, most people can sell. But only a few people know how to sell but not many know how to close – the majority don’t know how to communicate well. And this is because the communication techniques used by a salesperson and closer is completely different.

It’s about communicating with finesse. It’s not about selling, It’s about influencing and persuading your prospects or clients to close a deal. The truth is – communication is the key to both. But closing is a way more inclusive and effective way of talking to a potential client or a customer. Let’s look at an example.

Let’s say a company’s main product costs $5,000 – would they showcase their offer through Instagram? Through Twitter? Through any other social media platform? If they want to speak directly to their audience and potential buyers they might do so…but the truth is it probably would not be effective. Most people will not buy if they do not trust the company and do not have a pre-existing relationship with it. So, what do they do? They sell more affordable offers to that market place – they take time to build trust. This way the prospect can try more affordable options to build trust and confidence and try some products out before making the bigger purchase.

Let’s say they offer a product that’s valued at $200 or $500 – this is what we refer to as a low ticket offer. Once they’ve purchased and experienced their low ticket offer, the prospects will be more open and ready to explore further. This is what we call high ticket offer. And it is also when a high ticket closer comes into play.

You see…

What Makes High Ticket Closing Different?

As we mentioned earlier, the closer is a sales professional who closes deals at a minimum of $3,000 – $5,000. So, when defining a high ticket closing, we can say that it is a skill bound to accelerate your career and increase your income significantly. It allows you to generate a six-figure income easily. All it requires from you is a good mentor and strong commitment and dedication. It requires you to master a set of very specific, carefully designed techniques.

To close sales valued at $5,000, $10,000, $20,000 or $50,000 is not as easy as it seems. This kind of sales is usually not made through a social media post. Because of the high value and the price tag – sales such as this are usually made on the phone. When customers make such high purchases, they usually want to talk to someone – they want to engage with a human being on the other end of the line. This makes them feel more secure in their choice and it makes it real and personal. And this is why high ticket closers are crucial.

If you’ve been following Dan and watching his videos, by now, you should know what we’re talking about. So, now that you know what a closer is and how closing might function, the question is – how can you generate high income with high ticket closing?

You Facilitate Conversation and Guide Prospects

By now you probably figured it out – old sales techniques don’t work anymore. That is why as a Closer, you don’t beg for someone to buy your product and you don’t repeatedly cold call your prospects trying to sell things to them. With the new techniques, when you get on a call with your prospect, you want their full attention. You do not break their day with the unwanted calls, as a close, you actually block the time on both of your calendars to discuss the offer.

When you schedule a phone call, the prospect has your full attention. You are not disturbing them at the wrong time, and you can engage them more and find the best solution for them. This approach is created to allow you to help the prospect resolve a problem. Walk them through the process…ask them to guide you through the issue they are facing and how they’re trying to solve it. Ask them questions to help them understand what it is that they’re dealing with and what’s the root cause of the problem.

When you approach your prospect like this, you build trust and are more likely to close the sale. You are helping the company or an individual you’re closing for and you’re helping yourself because you make money purely on a commission basis. This allows you to determine your own income – you make as much or as little as you want to.

You Must Qualify Prospects to Ensure Success

Let’s say you closed a $10,000 value product. For this, the company will be more than happy to pay you a certain amount of commission – let’s say 10% – that’s $1,000. This is money well spent for them because if it wasn’t for you – they would not be making the sale. They spend so much money in product development and marketing, and paying you a commission for a closed deal is nothing in comparison. So closing allows you to generate income without overhead, inventory or capital. All you need is a computer and a phone. You are what we call the silent rainmaker.

However, you must remember that as a high ticket closer – you are not obliged to make a sale. Just because you’re on the phone with someone, doesn’t mean you need to close them. As a matter of fact, it is your duty as a closer to qualify prospects before they can make the purchase of the product or program you offer.

This way, you’re not only helping your influencer to qualify quality prospects, you’re also helping your prospects to decide what’s best for themselves. This may facilitate in your influencer’s marketing funnel. So, high ticket closing is not just about making a sale, it’s also about helping people make the right choice.

What Is In It For You?

So, as we mentioned earlier, a deal closed for a business owner is a sale for the business.  Without sales, there’s no money.  So, if you’re a business owner, closing is crucial to your company’s success. Why? Because, once you’ve mastered the process of high ticket closing, it can dramatically increase your business revenue.  If you commit to mastering the art of high ticket closing you will discover the secrets of influence and persuasion.

These secrets are important even if you’re not in business yourself in any way. Perhaps you are looking for a career change…or looking to convince your family to go to your dream vacation spot on your next trip…Either way – you need to know how to influence people. If you’re at a crossroads or thinking about career shift – closing offers many possibilities. Without going back to school, you could pick up this new skill in a matter of weeks and become your own boss in no time, without overhead, inventory, and capital. Leaving a 9-5 life is possible indeed and in a shorter period of time than people think.

Closing is the Key Component of Every Successful Bussiness

This skill is also great for freelancers. Let’s say you’re a freelance writer. The freelance economy is growing, and it has increased by 4 million since 2014. Therefore, for its thriving community, the opportunities are endless. The challenges are therefore many as well…competition is strong…but it also offers you the pleasure of turning your passion into a career. A freelance writer, for example, can name their own price. But if they acquire the high income skill such as closing – their skills are  stacked.

If you demand your price with confidence and finesse of a closer – eager clients will lineup to hire you.  You will now be able to deliver value as a writer, but as closer you will also know how to communicate that value to the prospects and help them determine if your services are the right choice for them, You will also be able to make sure that the clients you engage with and end up working with are truly the ones you want to be doing business with.

Closing Offers the Ultimate Freedom

There’s no doubt, high-ticket closing is a new trend when it comes to sales. And what not – what can be better than generating a high income from any location you pick only by talking on the phone? With more businesses moving online, there is a higher need for closers because prospects need that human connection and contact to be comfortable making the purchase and the commitment. The marketplace for closers is growing rapidly.

That said, you need to make sure you have the right client for you and that you’re selling only the products and services you believe in. If you like your product and believe in it – your prospects will feel that. But remember – you must qualify them. First qualify your own client to make sure you are both on the same page and looking for the same thing. Then qualify the prospects – if the product is not right for them – do not sell. Only the prospects that believe in your product and that are the right fit for it are worth the sale. They will benefit from it in full potential and they are more likely to recommend it to others too.
