I hope you’re enjoying this 5 tip newsletter mini-series…
Last week we touched on 5 enemies to your success…
So, in this week’s newsletter you’ll discover 5 things that will make you POWERFUL beyond belief.
Let’s get started.
How To Set Goals and ACHIEVE Them
If you search ‘goal setting’ online, you’ll see all kinds of different ways people set goals.
You’ve likely heard of the S.M.A.R.T. methodology which is an acronym for…
Brendon Burchard uses the D.U.M.B. methodology, which stands for…
3 years ago, I sat down with Andres Pira, who went from being homeless on a Thai beach to becoming the CEO of Blue Horizon Developments…
A company that has won 2 Property Awards and 1 Best Developer Award.
I’ve linked 3 goal setting videos for you.
You’re welcome to watch them and see which method resonates most, so you can implement it and achieve your goals this year and beyond.
Why You Must Become People Orientated
You may already know this…
But what I’m about to share IS one of the biggest keys to success.
If you look at anyone who’s successful, they all have at least one thing in common.
They’re PEOPLE orientated.
They’re great communicators, and for the most part great with people.
Never forget, everything you want someone already has.
If you want a certain amount of money, a certain lifestyle, a certain car etc, there are people out there who can give them to you in exchange for something.
The sooner you start to think of who you can help, rather than how can I get XYZ, the faster you’ll hit your income goals.
I realized this when I got started in business all those years ago, by mowing a stranger’s lawn.
This brings me to the next power play.
Why You Must Become a Problem Solver
Problems are the only thing getting in your way of getting what you want.
They could be your problems, or they could be other people’s problems.
If you solve enough people’s burning problems, they’ll pay you handsomely for it.
Personal development Godfather Zig Ziglar once famously said “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”
That’s why I teach high income skills.
Because they are highly paid skills that solve business problems.
They don’t take years to learn unlike a college degree…
And you can make good money for your time invested, that grows as your skill grows.
But, if you want to succeed with a high income skill you must first beat self-sabotage.
How To Beat Self-sabotage
Self-sabotage is the one of the biggest things that could get in the way of you achieving your dreams and aspirations.
Procrastination, negative self-talk, fear of failure or success, lack of focus and direction, and self-destructive behavior, are all common signs of self-sabotage.
But why does this happen?
It happens because we all have different beliefs about what’s possible for us.
If deep down you don’t feel worthy of money, everytime you make some, you’ll find a way to lose it.
If you don’t feel worthy of success, you’ll find a way to sabotage any opportunity you get.
If you’re afraid of rejection, you’ll make sure you never put yourself into a situation where you could be rejected.
You’ll do all this unconsciously, and you’ll think this is just how life is.
There are many other causes of self-sabotage including low self-esteem and confidence, past traumas or failures, external influences and distractions, or a lack of clarity and purpose.
Now you know some of the common signs and causes of self-sabotage, you can develop self-awareness around which ones present themselves in your life.
It’s important you have compassion for yourself as none of this is your fault, but it’s your responsibility to work through these obstacles if you want success.
Some things you can begin doing to work through self-sabotage include, practicing daily gratitude, meditation, journaling, and forgiving yourself for past mistakes.
As one of the goal setting tactics Andres shared in the video I shared above, was breaking down your bigger goals into smaller goals and celebrating each achievement.
Don’t aim for $20K per month.
Doing so will cause you to self-sabotage.
Instead, aim for $2K, then $4K, and keep going until you hit your goal of $20K.
If you break down your goals into smaller actions you’re less likely to trigger self-sabotage actions or inaction.
How To Develop Self-discipline
I purposely left this one for last because self-discipline underpins everything you’ve read about above.
Self-discipline is doing the things you know you should even when you don’t feel like it.
It’s what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.
Self-discipline can be a positive or negative cycle.
Whether you keep putting things off because you don’t feel like it…
Or you decide to take action regardless of how you feel.
Either way, you’ll build a strong habit.
You just have to decide which habit you want to build.
So, start small.
And remember, everytime you take action when you don’t feel like it, it makes your self-discipline stronger.

In Closing…
Personal development isn’t easy.
If it were, everyone would do it.
You should commend yourself that you’re on this journey striving towards a more successful, fulfilling, and abundant life.
Most people don’t have the self-honesty to do what you’re doing, so keep going and never give up.
I hope this newsletter has armed you with a few extra tools and tactics to help take your life to brand new heights.
To your success,
Dan Lok
P.S. – As I mentioned earlier, high income skills are big problem solvers in the business world.
Just one skill can change your life, and if you’re ready to take things to the next level…
